Increase Cargo Van Traction and Control

Increase Cargo Van Traction and Control

By on Dec 17, 2013 in Safety |

For much of the United States, winter brings added dangers and liabilities for the transportation and logistics community.   Truck and cargo van traction is greatly impaired when their loads are not properly placed withing a vehicle.   While load placement is quite simple for larger trucks and box vans, cargo vans are a completely different animal.  The tight quarters and weight restrictions make it nearly impossible for drivers to properly place the load to ensure that the weight helps create cargo van traction. That is where the PowerDeck comes in.  Our product allows the operator to easily slide their cargo forward to disperse the weight.  This increases cargo van traction control and ensures that the front wheels stay firm gripped to the pavement. Our buyers are no strangers to the impact that the PowerDeck has on their winter driving.  Not only will they gladly tell you that it is the case, but we have also seen a large increase in return buyers at or around the beginning of the winter months.  This past week we had a company call asking to get two new PowerDecks in their brand new Freightliner Sprinter vans.  When they ordered, they asked how quickly we could get them installed since we are expecting a considerable amount of snow in the coming weeks. This is just another example of the power of the PowerDeck.  Not only can it save you money and cut load time by up to 60%, but it ensure cargo van traction and control.  More importantly, it will keep your vans on a road. If you haven’t already, contact us today to find out what PowerDeck makes the most sense for your vehicle and allow us to give you a free, no obligation quote.  Let us help you ensure that your cargo van traction is less of a worry and...

PowerDeck Decreases Driver Downtime

PowerDeck Decreases Driver Downtime

By on Oct 24, 2013 in PowerDeck, Safety |

The DOT’s new Hours of Service rules are forcing companies to look for any opportunity that decreases driver downtime due to loading and unloading.  Some companies are even going so far as spending thousands of dollars on infrastructure to ensure that every minute of the drivers legal driving hours are being used.  (see the examples discussed in a recent Material Handling & Logistics article). That brings us back to the Power of the PowerDeck!  The PowerDeck has the potential to decrease driver downtime by up to 75% in some applications.  Consider the savings in the following scenarios… Instead of jumping in a box truck, wrangling a pallet jack, and pushing/pulling to cargo to the back of the truck, the driver can open the doors and press a button. Instead of crawling into the back of a cargo van to hook up a chain and drag the cargo out, the driver can simply press there reverse button and the cargo will safely and quickly move to the back of the van. The examples could go on, but the key is that the PowerDeck can be applied to help in these situations for vehicles that are impacted by the new Hours of Service rules.  In the past, most of our PowerDeck’s have gone in Sprinters and other cargo vans but we expect that to change as carriers above the 10,0000 pound threshold look to meet the new restrictions and decrease driver downtime. For a better look at just how much the PowerDeck decreases driver downtime, check out the following video for a side by side comparison....

A recent report in Material Handling & Logistics News stated that pallet consumption will rise 3.5% annually through 2017.   That got us at PowerDeck thinking?  How many of these pallets are unneedingly being destroyed because of users dragging them out of the back of vans when they could keep them intact and save money by using the PowerDeck.  If you haven’t seen the different the PowerDeck can make, check out the comparison video below. Pallet Moving System Could Prevent Tragedy

Pallet Moving System Could Prevent Tragedy

By on Jun 11, 2013 in PowerDeck, Safety |

Safety is king in industry and manufacturing today, but unfortunately the emphasis from the top doesn’t always mean follow through on the loading docks and parking lots of our nations factories.  This recent article from Material Handling & Logistics News talks about 5 deaths due to fork lifts in Idaho alone.  The sad part about these incidents is that they could all be avoided.  The PowerDeck is made to keep workers out of the way and out of the back of vans throughout the loading process decreasing injury risk significantly. The Powerdeck is a pallet moving system that was created to prevent just that. So remember to be safe, follow the OHSA standards, and use a PowerDeck for your van cargo transportation needs. As you see the PowerDeck pallet moving system has the capability to keep workers and van operators safe and potentially save companies thousands in liability...
